Train Land

Just thought everyone would like to see all the trains and train tracks, since so many of you gave Owen a train(s) or tracks for his birthday. As you can see, the tracks basically take up all the floor space in his room, and this isn't even all of them! He looooooves his trains! He knows every one of their names, and anytime he watches the show and sees one he doesn't have, he almost immediately says, "I need so-and-so..." So funny!

The train obsession has been wonderful for me, too, because he will stay in his room for 30-40 minutes at a time and just play by himself!

Big Boy Room!

Well, the day finally came...Owen outgrew his crib. Well, almost. If he didn't have to have all 17 Thomas trains, Doggie, and a gigantic horse sleep with him, he would have probably had enough room.

I wasn't expecting to get so emotional when we were painting his room and taking the crib apart, but I got so choked up and ended up in tears! Two years have gone by so fast. Well, kind of. The baby days were loooooong days. I remember so many people telling us when Owen was born that time would fly, that we'd blink our eyes and he'd be grown. But when you're changing diapers, getting up all night (and I do mean ALL night...he was such an awful sleeper), and washing burp cloths and bibs all day long, you don't realize that time is passing. And now it does seem like I blinked my eyes and suddenly he's such a big boy.

Here are some pictures of his new room. The walls are still bare and Ben has to build a headboard, but you'll get the idea. He likes his new bed a lot! He's already figured out how to jump on it! We had no trouble at all with the transition. He got out once and asked me for a train, but I told him to get back in and I'd hand it to him. After that, he was out!

This was a print of "Children's Prayer" that David and Lori-Lynne had in one of their boys' rooms. They gave it to us recently when they were cleaning some closets out. It's pretty special to have it in Owen's room now.

Jumping!

This was so sweet. The Cookes were over for dinner tonight, and after dinner Owen said, "Nathan, come on. Come to my new room." He just loves Nathan. So they got really quiet, and we peaked around the corner, and there they were in bed, reading. Sooooo precious!

"Cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow; babies grow up, we've learned to our sorrow.
So quiet down cob webs; dust, go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep."

Being messy is fun!

Eating "pop pop" and watching golf with Daddy

This picture sums up my life...no matter where I go, two little faces are not too far behind! This includes the bathroom!
