Happy Halloween!!
Last night was our Fall Festival at church. It's a great time for the kiddos. We have lots of games, prizes, inflatables, food, face-painting, and "trunk-or-treating." Owen dressed up as Super Man and had a great time! I was almost as excited about the festival as he was because it was my first time back to church since Shepard was born! I was so happy to see all of our friends!
We dropped Shepard off next door on our way to church, so Owen got to trick-or-treat once.

Here are Owen and Jackson, beating each other up, as usual!
Jackson takes a hit this time!

More junk food! This was at the end of the night, and Owen's head was soaked from all the jumping, and he was covered in a layer of sugar and grease!

Shepard, 3 weeks old!
It has been a GREAT three weeks with Shepard! He is a GREAT baby! Owen just absolutely loves his brother, which is such an answer to prayer. Owen has been my baby for three years, and I prayed so much during my pregnancy that the Lord would prepare his little heart for such a big adjustment. And He did!
Shepard got an excellent report at his 2-week checkup. He had gained a whole pound from what he weighed when we left the hospital!! The doctor was really impressed with that! He is becoming more alert every day and just goes with the flow of things around our house. Poor guy will never know what peace and quiet means!

Two Brothers
Here we are on our first morning after Mom left, just us four. Owen had school this morning, and we actually got up, I got Shepard fed, and we ate breakfast in time to have a few moments for the brothers to cuddle! (notice milk on Owen's pj's!) Owen is really loving Shepard and wants to hold him all the time!

Shepard, 1 week old!
Well, it's been a great first week with Shepard! He has been a FANTASTIC baby so far! Great eater and great sleeper. Because Owen was such a challenging infant, I'm having a hard time believing a baby can actually be somewhat easy. (Keeping fingers crossed!)
I was nervous about Owen coming home, what he'd think...would he be jealous? He has done GREAT with Shepard. He's very interested in his baby brother, and he's super helpful with getting me diapers or burp cloths. He doesn't quite understand why there isn't room for him on my lap while I'm feeding Shepard, but we're working on that.
Owen was EXTREMELY wound up one evening, and I was about to pull my hair out! He was literally climbing on top of the coffee table and jumping onto the sofa, then to the chair. He was hitting things with his foam baseball bat and being REALLY loud. So Mom took Shepard (who was sleeping!) and Owen and I went outside with the soccer ball to try to get some energy out. Anyway, he was so sweet...he decided to collect pine cones for Mom, Ben, myself, himself, and he got a tiny one for Shepard. Then he came inside and crushed them all over the couch and coffee table. Lovely.
Sleeping again!!!
