Owen and I made cupcakes after he woke up from his nap today. I did a no-no and let him lick the spatula (the batter had eggs in it). He called it "pancakes!"
It is really hard to explain to a 2-yr old why he can't eat the cupcake the moment you pour the batter into the cupcake liner. "They have to bake... then cool...then we will ice them..." We had to make a few trips to the oven and turn the light on and watch them bake.
And, oh, we made a mess! He kept sticking his finger in all the cupcakes and poking holes in them, so we covered them up in icing, which he then stuck his finger in!! Oh, well.
